Middle School Parent Handbook
Athletic Mission Statement and Philosophy
Trinity Christian School Athletics commits to providing a
balanced program that consists of mental strength, physical skills,
and Christ-like attributes, preparing athletes to be leaders in
society.
As part of its commitment to provide a complete educational
experience for the student body, TCS provides diverse opportunities
for athletic involvement for both men and women. The focus of all
TCS sports activities is to cultivate character qualities that
prepare the student for successful Christian living after
graduation. Coaches are committed to modeling Christian virtues both
on and off the athletic field.
The specific focus of middle school athletics is to condition and
train students in basic skills, preparing them for future
competitions and activities. The Trinity Tigers compete in and are
members of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools,
Division 4A (TAPPS). All athletics compete within the guidelines and
abide by rules established by TAPPS.
For a complete schedule of all Trinity Christian School athletic
events for the 2007-2008 year, you can review our full online "Athletic
Calendar"
TCS
Athletic Facilities
The athletic facilities at Trinity Christian School are in the top
echelon of Texas private school offerings. The facilities not only
support all of the TCS sporting events, but also are used by a
number of colleges in the area.
The Trinity Tigers take the gridiron each year at the Charles
Baldwin "Tiger" Stadium and Track Facility. This is a
fully fenced, lighted stadium with home and visitor stands, a
well-appointed press box, concession stand, a permanent ticket booth
and high capacity restroom facilities. The eight-lane, all weather,
tartan track is comparable to that of the University of Texas at
Austin and Texas A&M and includes a Lynx Olympic qualifying
timing system.
The Nutting Arena Building (NAB) is home to a first class, 16,000
square foot gymnasium. Features include elevated seating, electronic
scoreboard, padded walls, four locker rooms, a well equipped weight
room available to both men and women and a medical center/spa. The
Nutting Arena hosts Tiger basketball, volleyball and other major events
throughout the year.
