What
are the qualifications of the teachers?
All full time teachers must have earned a bachelors degree from
an accredited college or university. They must be certified
either by the State of Texas or by Trinity Christian School's
accrediting agency, the Association of Christian Schools
International, which is recognized by the Texas Department of
Education. Trinity seeks experienced professionals who are
dedicated to the highest quality of classroom learning in a
spiritual environment. All teachers must be born again
Christians and demonstrate a vibrant relationship with God.
Is
Trinity Christian School affiliated with a church?
Yes. Trinity Christian School is part of Trinity Ministries,
located in Cedar Hill, Texas which also includes Trinity
Church of the Assemblies of God.
What
are the school hours?
Classes begin at Trinity Christian School at 8:00 AM. Release
times are staggered according to age. The elementary and
pre-schools (K-3 through 4th grade) are released at 3:15 PM.
Middle School (grades 5 through 8) is released at 3:30 PM. High
School also releases at 3:30 PM. Before and after school care is
available from 7:00 AM until 6:00 PM. Offices are open from 7:30
AM until 4:30 PM.
Please
describe the school lunch program.
TCS provides nutritionally balanced lunches for students in
grades PK - 12. The school contracts with an outside company to
supply these meals which meet state guidelines. The current cost
of a meal is $3.75 for PK3 - 3rd grade and $4.25 for 4th - 12th
grade.

is the student/teacher ratio in the various grades?
For K-3 classes, the maximum ratio is 1 teacher for every
12 students. For K-4 students, the maximum ratio is 1 teacher to every 15 students. For K-5 students, the maximum ratio is 1
teacher for every 18 students. First grade has a maximum
ratio of 1 teacher to every 20 students. Second, Third, and Fourth
grades have a maximum ratio of 1 teacher for every 22 students. Middle School and High School ratios vary according to
the class and subject matter.

How
does your school rank with other schools in the area?
TCS compares favorably with any school in the Southwest Dallas
County area. The school's advanced curriculum allows the students
to perform at a superior level. Trinity students, on average, test
one to two grade levels above their contemporaries in public
school. Further, the most recent achievement tests indicate that
Trinity Christian School students score better than 70% of
students in other private Christian schools.

What
percent of graduates go to college?
The majority of Trinity graduates continue their education after
their high school graduation. More than 90% of students attend an
institution of higher learning. Some of the colleges to which
Trinity students have been accepted include Georgetown University,
Baylor University, Southern Methodist University, Texas Christian
University, Texas A & M, University of Texas at Austin and the
military academies among others.

Is
there a dress code?
TCS is a uniform school. All students are required to purchase and
wear a uniform each day. Uniforms enhance the environment by
creating an atmosphere of learning and professionalism. Further,
uniforms increase campus security by allowing faculty and staff to
instantly recognize those who are not enrolled in school.

What
are the demographics of the school population?
Trinity Christian School embraces the diversity of the community
in which it is situated. Racial and cultural diversity enhance the
educational environment. The body of Christ is composed of various
elements that compliment each other and augment the creativity and
performance of each element.

What
special classes are available for elementary students?
In addition to the normal academic classes, TCS provides
opportunity for children in grades kindergarten through 4th grade to
participate in music classes, physical
education, computer classes, art, library and Spanish.

What
electives are available for middle and high school students?
Middle School students are able to choose from the following
electives: Choir, Band, Art, Spanish, Study Skills, Computer and Drama. High School Students may choose from the following list of
electives: Choir, Band, Art, Sculpture, Pottery, Advanced Computer, Public
Communication, Drama, Journalism. Audio/media, Creative Writing, Current
Events, Yearbook, AP Calculus, AP Chemistry 2, Physics 1, Physics
2, AP Biology 2, Spanish 3, Bible Elective, SAT Math/Statistics,
Cultural Sociology, Modern Social Problems, leadership Institute and Speech.
Dual credit is offered through Cedar Valley Junior College to
qualifying students. Coursework may be completed at school or at
home.

Do
you have honors and AP courses in High School?
TCS offers AP and honors courses in English, Science and Math for
those students who qualify.

Does
TCS have a complete sports program?
The school offers a complete sports program for both male and
female athletes. Sports for male athletes include football,
basketball, baseball, soccer, track and field, competitive
weightlifting, tennis and golf. Sports for
female athletes include cheerleading, volleyball, basketball,
track and field, softball, tennis, golf and soccer.

Do
you have an extended care? What are extended care hours?
Trinity Christian School offers extended care for all ages. Hours are from 7:00 AM
until school begins in the mornings and from the release of
students from classes until 6:00 PM in the afternoons.

What
curriculum is used to teach reading in the lower grades?
Pre-school through second grades use a curriculum which emphasizes
phonics based reading (ABeka). This curriculum is supplemented in
later grades by curricula which emphasize reading comprehension.

Describe
the High School/Middle School schedule.
The Intermediate School (5th - 6th) schedules are made up of four periods, with four elective periods, which are approximately 40 minutes in length. The Middle School (7th - 8th)and High School (9th - 12th) schedules are made up of seven
periods. Each period is fifty minutes in length. The day begins at
8:00 AM and ends at 3:30 PM.

Describe
the spiritual life of the school.
The "Christian" of Trinity Christian School is key to
the mission of the school. TCS is committed to providing a
Christian atmosphere for the total growth of the individual
student. As part of this commitment, each student is required to
attend Bible classes each day. Additionally, students attend
chapel services once each week. These services are age appropriate
and are intended to apply the truth of Christ's message to the
daily obstacles and challenges faced by students in today's
culture. All faculty and staff are committed Christians called to
partner with parents in the formation and development of students.
